SFS Group of Institutions celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The celebration started at 8:30 am at the SFS High School ground.

The President of the function Rev. Dr. Benny Koottanal, Chief Guest Col. H.R Sunil Subedar Major Gnanendra Rana , the Manager Rev. Fr. Joshy Philip , Rev.Fr.Saju Jose, Rev. Dr. Fr. Japamali , Rev. Fr. Roy , Rev.Dr. Fr. Santhosh Kumar , Rev. Fr. Victor Kujur , Rev.Fr. Tony A.J , Rev.Fr.Jijo Manjackal , Rev.Fr.Jijo Manjackal , Rev.Fr.Doraiswamy , Rev. Fr.Barthalome , Rev.Fr.Lalu Jose, Sr.Pushpa and the principal Rev.Fr.P.M.Lawrence were escorted by the school band.

The celebration began with the welcome speech. The Chief guest hoisted the national flag and accepted the salute and guard of honour. The spirit of freedom and nationalism was well exhibited by the students of SFS Institutions through various traditional dance forms and skit. Each and every student and teacher contributed towards its preparations.

The chief guest of the function addressed the gathering appealing to their nationalistic spirit and urging them to take pride in being an Indian and fulfilling one’s duty with responsibility. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks.

It was indeed a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and to make it a better place for the Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
