Class VI: 10 % of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term

Class VIII: 30 % of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term


C. Grades IX and X

(1) There will be an Annual Examination based on the entire syllabus.

(2) The Annual Examination will be of 80 marks and 20 marks weightage shall be
for Internal Assessment.

(3) For Internal Assessment

(a) There will be Periodic Assessments that would include:

(i) For 5 Marks - Three Periodic Assessments conducted by the school. Average of the best two assessments to be taken that will have a weightage of 5 marks towards the final result. (to be justified)

(ii) For 5 Marks - Diverse methods of assessment as per the need of the class dynamics and curriculum transaction. These may include - short tests, oral tests, quizzes, concept maps, projects, posters, presentations, enquiry-based scientific investigations, etc. and the use of rubrics to argue them objectively. This will also have a weightage of 5 marks towards the final result. (to be justified)

(b) Practical/Laboratory work should be done throughout the year and the students should maintain a record of the same. Practical Assessment should be continuous. There will be a weightage of 5 marks towards the final result. All practicals listed in the syllabus must be completed. (to be justified)

(c) Portfolio to be prepared by the student. This would include classwork and other samples of student work and will carry a weightage of 5 marks towards the final results. (to be justified)

Examinations
(1) Assessment is an evaluation tool to record the progress of a student. it is compulsory for the students to appear in the examinations for promotion to the higher class.

(2) If on medical grounds, the student is not able to take the examinations, the application for the same supported with a medical certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner and countersigned by the parents must be submitted on time.

(3) Classwork and homework, which have due weightage in annual promotions, need to be regularly watched and taken care of by the parents.

Subject Enrichment Activities
These are subject – specific activities aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These activities are to be carried out throughout the term., however, they should be evaluated at the term-end.

Co-Scholastic Activities
For the holistic development of the student, co-curricular activities in the following areas be carried out by the teachers and will be graded term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A - Outstanding, B - Very Good and C - Fair).

The aspects of regularity, sincere participation, output and teamwork are the generic criteria for grading in the following co-scholastic activities:
(1) Work Education – Work Education refers to skill–based activities resulting in goods or services useful to the community.
(2) Art Education (Visual and Performing Art)
(3) Health and Physical Education (Sports/ Martial Arts/ Yoga/NCC etc.)

Discipline
The students will also be assessed based on the following criteria:
● Regularity
● Sincerity
● Good behaviour
● Social and Moral values
● Personal hygiene and cleanliness
● Respect for peer group, teaching and non-teaching staff and others
● Adherance to rules and regulations
● Attitude towards society, nation and others

Grading on discipline will be done term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A - Outstanding, B - Very Good and C - Fair).
